VIDEO: Is Obama gaslighting you?

By KTTH | May 19, 2014

Have you ever heard of gaslighting?

Maybe not. But you have heard this: a president tells you and millions of others that if you like your healthcare plan, you can keep it. And you’ve probably heard that same president backtrack on that statement after it turned out to be wrong by saying that you misheard him.

Over at TruthRevolt, commentator Bill Whittle introduces us to the concept of gaslighting, which involves a sociopath torturing a victim by constantly shifting “the truth.”

“Gaslighting is a form of mental abuse in which false information is presented with the intent of making a victim doubt his or her own memory, perception and sanity,” Whittle says.

The Obama administration is adept at gaslighting, and Whittle provides many examples.

Sometimes, the gaslighting effect is so great that victims will join the game – like when CNN anchor Candy Crowley backed up Obama during a debate with Mitt Romney, ruling that Obama had in fact called the attack on Benghazi “terrorism.”

“Candy Crowley stepped dutifully forward as the housemaid to corroborate the gaslighting lie and Mitt Romney and you and me – all of us – looked at each other as if we were losing our minds,” Whittle said.
