Religious liberty will be up for debate at the next AM 770 KTTH panel event and will feature a range of voices from hosts Ben Shapiro and Michael Medved, to the chair of the University of Washington comparative religion department.

The debate “Religious Freedom: Where my Rights and Your Rights Collide,” will happen in June at Seattle University. Panelists will debate the implications of recent laws and court cases concerning religious freedom. Topics up for discussion include the Hobby Lobby case, Arizona Bill SB1062, and the conflict between minority rights and religious liberty.

The panel will include host David Boze as moderator, and Shapiro and Medved. Plus, the Rev. Monica Corsaro of the Rainier Beach United Methodist Church, sponsor of the Boy Scouts troop with a gay leader; Huffington Post religion columnist Valerie Tarico; and James Wellman, chair of the UW comparative religion department and author of “Evangelical vs. Liberal: The Clash of Christian Cultures in the Pacific Northwest.”

In April, the KTTH panel series hosted a debate on the $15 minimum wage between Shapiro and Socialist City Councilwoman Kshama Sawant. That event sold out in days, with a limited number of VIP tickets selling out fastest.

Standard tickets for the religion panel cost $15 – or $10 for anyone with a valid student ID – and a limited number of VIP tickets cost $100.

Each VIP gets access to a pre-party meet-and-greet with Shapiro and Medved featuring catered food and drinks, plus reserved front-row seats at the debate.

“Religious Freedom: Where my Rights and Your Rights Collide” happens June 26 at 7:30 p.m. at Seattle University. Buy tickets here.
