A Democrat in Wisconsin is mounting a political stunt to paint Republicans as racists by … handing out racist objects.

TruthRevolt.com is reporting that state Rep. Brett Hulsey, who is running for governor, will hand out Ku Klux Klan-style white hoods to state Republicans to perpetuate the Democrats’ “war on minorities” fable.

TruthRevolt.com reports:

After having failed to garner enough attention with a planned Republicans = Secessionists stunt, Hulsey decided to raise the stakes Thursday. As the Milwaukee-Wisconsin Journal reports, Hulsey had announced earlier this week that he would portray Republicans as Confederate soldiers and parade outside the GOP convention being held this week in Milwaukee. When Hulsey failed to get the press he wanted, he ramped up his tactics, trading Confederate uniforms for Klansmen hoods.

Hulsey announced his new stunt Thursday at the state Capitol press room where he proudly showed off an example of the white hoods he had made using his daughter’s sewing machine. His plan: to hand the hoods to Republicans when they gather Friday as part of the state GOP convention.

State Republican executive director Joe Fadness called the Democrat candidate’s latest campaign move a “reprehensible, vile stunt.”

Hulsey is a state representative from Madison who is running against a far better-funded, more widely popular Mary Burke. In 2011, Hulsey was one of the Democrats who led the take-over of the Wisconsin Capitol. (Here’s footage of the event.)
