McMorris Rodgers says Obamacare is here to stay

By KTTH | April 28, 2014

Spokane-area Republican Congresswoman Cathy McMorris Rodgers has told her local newspaper that Obamacare is here to stay, and that opponents need to look to reform rather than repeal to change it.

“We need to look at reforming the exchanges,” McMorris Rodgers told the Spokane Spokesman-Review in a story published Monday. “It’s a top-down, one-size-fits-all approach to health care. She told the paper that consumers should have more choice, and that not every uninsured person is going to enroll for coverage just because of the mandate.

McMorris Rodgers is the highest-ranking female Republican, and a five-term congresswoman.

McMorris Rodgers also said that she thinks there will be a bipartisan deal on immigration before the 2014 election. She does not support amnesty, but would support giving legal status to illegal immigrants who are working toward citizenship.

“We’re going to have to push that this is a legal status, not amnesty,” she told the paper.
